If you live in DC, please help!

I know there are lot of PF bloggers in the DC area- I need your help if you are stumbling upon my blog!

I'm throwing a bachelorette party in DC next weekend (August 16) and my brother told me that it would be fun to check out some of the bars in the Adams Morgan area, but he couldn't give me any specifics. Rather than lead a group of 9 girls aimlessly through the streets, I'm looking for a little bit of direction. We might be hitting up some clubbier places later in the evening, but to start the night we're looking for a bar with fun music and not-so-expensive drinks (we have a lot of college girls in the party) to get the party started from 10-12 or so.

Suggestions, please!!

Thanks,
CB

Gosh, I don't know how much help I'll be; I almost never go clubbing or anything. I remember a bar in Adams Morgan called Madam's Organ where my group did tequila shots about three years ago. My boyfriend went there recently, but I don't remember whether he liked it or not. Clarendon Ballroom (in Arlington) is great for dancing.

If you have a large group you might want to consider contacting Girls Night Out. I don't know how much it costs, but they will pick you up and drive you to place from place and you won't have to pay cover charges. The driver will come in with you and take pictures that they save a link to and e-mail you with later. You still have to pay for your own drinks, but you don't have to worry about the Metro or parking or walking very far if you're quite inebriated. ;-)

OH man, where to start! I used to go to Nolan's allll the time (it used to be called Crush) and it was always a pleasure. I guess it depends on what type of music you all are looking for though. They have a lot of hip hop and old school rock like Bon Jovi mixed in with some 80's favs....but more dancy/hip hop than anything else.

I liked Heaven and Hell too, but can't remember much. Madam's Organ as Lptp mentioned above is pretty popular, but the only times i've been there i've been pretty smashed ;)

Adams morgan is just like bleecker st. in your hood, a bunch of rowdy young kids all trying to get their drink on. Once you're there, it'll be non-stop fun :) Def. cab it or metro it (although you have to walk quite a bit to get there), just don't drive there whatever you do.

good luck!

Oohh, and if you go outside adams morgan (like perhaps, DuPont Circle area?) there's The Front Page which is pretty fun and dance-like, and there are a ton of irish bars everywhere too.

Hey everyone, thanks for the suggestions! I didn't realize that Adams Morgan would be a whole bar-filled area, so I guess knowing specific places to go isn't as important, we can just bar-hop. Funny that Madame Organ is the place my brother mentioned. Will we look ridiculous rolling up in a limo? Because that's what we'll be doing!

We may not stay in that area all night, so I'll check out your other suggestions, J!
